GoodMorning

"Please take the time to tell those people you love, that you love them, care for them, or whatever they mean to you in your life (positive only). Life is precious, and we need to be grateful for each day we are given."

What Is A Dad?

A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail..!!

Importance of Mehndi in Indian Weddings

Indian marriages are known for their many rituals. In fact, the beauty of Indian weddings comes forth in the numerous traditions that are associated with the special celebration. The day of marriage being the most important day in one's life. Infact one whole ceremony dedicated to its celebration popularly known as "Mehndi Ki Raat".Indian marriages are incomplete without dance, music and lots of laughter.

It is a common belief that the darker the color the mehndi leaves on the hands on a bride, the more will she be loved by her husband and mother-in-law. However, the significance of applying mehndi during weddings is not restricted just to sentiments and beliefs. Although these beliefs make the application of mehndi a much anticipated and charming tradition, the actual reason is of much deeper significance.

My dad is my hero: Sunny Deol

He enjoys a huge fan club and many would be idolising him, but for Sunny Deol his “protective” father Dharmendra, Bollywood's 'He Man' of the 1960s and 1970s, is his all-time favourite hero.

"My dad is very protective about our family. In fact, we all are protective about each other, but he cannot bear if anything goes wrong to anyone," Said Sunny.

Are you also Protective for your Family?

Five Reasons to have a arranged marriage

1.Full family support:
For most people in India, marriage is like a family affair.Compatibility of social status, family beliefs all happen here allowing both the parties to come together for a lifetime.

2.Understanding is inevitable:
An arranged marriage is performed only after both the parties mutually decide to go ahead with the union. The process therefore involves understanding each other’s cultural interests apart from individual views and opinions about life in general.

3.Financial security:
Unlike a love marriage where financial security of the groom is not always a priority, in an arranged marriage, it is imperative that the bride’s family ensure that their would-be son-in-law is career-oriented and has a steady flow of income

4.Mystery element: Since an arranged marriage is negotiated by the parents, love happens in due course of time. And because the two people involved are more or less strangers to each other, it leaves them with an element of mystery.

5.Dating opportunity: Once the alliance is arranged, the boy and girl are officially allowed to meet and know more about each other. Fun is when the couple is given an opportunity to date with the consent of both the families.

Madhuri is sincere, passionate and hardworking: Ranbir

The first woman I fell in love with was Madhuri Dixit and the first woman who gave me a heartbreak was Madhuri Dixit when she got married. Just the fact that I got an opportunity to dance with her and see her on the sets, was amazing,” said the 30-year-old.

Everyone has childhood crushes and for Ranbir Kapoor, it was the Bollywood diva — Madhuri Dixit. And now that he’s gotten the chance to bust a move with the woman of his dreams in a special song Ghagra in his forthcoming film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, he couldn’t be happier. He was all praise for her work ethic and professionalism.

Ranbir grew up watching her films; she has worked with his father-actor Rishi Kapoor in several projects including Yaraana, Sahibaan and Prem Granth. He admitted that he was quite heartbroken when he found out Madhuri had married Sriram Nene in 1999. He was only 17 at the time.“The first woman I fell in love with was Madhuri Dixit and the first woman who gave me a heartbreak was Madhuri Dixit when she got married. Just the fact that I got an opportunity to dance with her and see her on the sets, was amazing,” said the 30-year-old.

Amitabh Bachchan gets nostalgic on 40th marriage anniversary

It's been 40 years since Amitabh Bachchan married his Zanjeer co-star Jaya. The megastar looks back at the "lifetime" and says God has been kind to give him the family that he has.

Amitabh and Jaya celebrate their 40th anniversary today.

The duo has worked together in movies like Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke, Sholay and Zanjeer. They had a small wedding affair back then with only close friends and family in attendance.

It "seems like just the other evening", Big B posted on his blog, adding: "I had driven with my parents to a friend's place on Malabar Hill, in the southern region of the city, and to a very quick, no fuss, no 'taam jhaam', family and a few friends, and a few close media, wedding."

"A wedding that had the fulfillment of a promise, that if Zanjeer succeeded we would get married! Here we are now, two children and three grand children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, relatives and 'samdhis' in our family fold. God has been very kind," he added.

Amitabh and Jaya have two children - Shweta and Abhishek. Shweta is the elder one, and is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda. She got married in 1997 and is now based in Delhi. They have two children - Agastya and Navya Naveli.

Abhishek, a Bollywood actor, is married to former beauty queen-turned-actress Aishwarya Rai. They have a daughter named Aaradhya.

Here’s wishing Amitabh and Jaya a very happy marriage anniversary!

In February 1995 Dorothy West, the last surviving member of the Harlem Renaissance, published The Wedding, her first novel in 47 years. Hailed as a triumph by critics and readers alike, the book spent most of 1995 at the top of the Blackboard: African American Bestsellers and Quarterly Black Review of Books bestsellers lists, and was optioned by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Films.

Set on a bucolic Martha's Vineyard in the 1950s, The Wedding tells the story of life in the Oval, a proud, insular community made up of the best and brightest of the East Coast's black bourgeoisie. Within this inner circle of "blue-vein society," we witness the prominent Coles family gather for the wedding of their loveliest daughter, Shelby, who could have chosen from "a whole area of eligible men of the right colors and the right professions." Instead, she has fallen in love with and is about to be married to Mead Wyler, a white jazz musician from New York. A shock wave breaks over the Oval as its longtime members grapple with the changing face of its community.

Through a delicate interweaving of past and present, North and South, black and white, The Wedding unfolds outward from a single isolated time and place until it embraces five generations of an extraordinary American family. It is an audacious accomplishment, a monumental history of the rise of a black middle class, written by a woman who has lived it. Wise, heartfelt, and shattering, it is Dorothy West's crowning achievement.
